This site stores nothing on your device to make its own pages work. There is no login, no shopping cart and no session to remember, so there are no technical cookies to tell you about.
The one thing we do keep is your answer to the consent banner. It is saved as cit-consent in your browser's local storage — not a cookie, and never sent to any server. It exists only so the banner stops asking you the same question on every page.
If you press Accept, Google Analytics 4 sets these cookies:
_ga — distinguishes one visitor from another. Expires after 2 years._ga_FELFB9W37W — keeps the state of the current visit for this site's analytics property. Expires after 2 years.We run Google Consent Mode v2 with analytics_storage denied by default, so the tag loads in a cookieless state and only starts writing once consent is given. Ad storage, ad user data and ad personalisation stay denied whatever you choose: we do not advertise and we do not build profiles.
One honest caveat about _ga. This site lives atcyclingintuscany.tuscanytrail.it, and Google Analytics writes that cookie for the whole of tuscanytrail.it — so if you have already visited the Tuscany Trail website, your browser is carrying a _ga cookie before you ever reach us. We neither set it nor read it until you accept. What is unambiguously ours is_ga_FELFB9W37W, and that one appears only after you pressAccept.
If you press Decline, we write no analytics cookie at all.
Clearing the site data for this domain in your browser removes thecit-consent entry along with any analytics cookie: the banner will greet you again on your next visit and you can answer differently. In most browsers this lives under Settings → Privacy → Cookies and site data, or in the padlock menu in the address bar.
You can also refuse cookies browser-wide, or install Google'sAnalytics opt-out add-on. Nothing on this site depends on cookies, so refusing them costs you no functionality at all.
